Ilford guesthouse sold to local investor

The Woodville Guest House in Ilford, Essex, has been sold for the first time in 30 years.

It is the first hotel to join the property portfolio of the new owner, local investor Saleh Adam.

The 18-bedroom property in Argyle Road was converted into a hotel from a group of bay-fronted residential family homes in the 1970s.

It has been run as a family business for approximately 30 years by Joan Murray and her husband, who is now deceased.

The guesthouse, which holds four RAC and three AA Diamonds, includes a breakfast room, a timber office/store room, and a Jacuzzi room. To the rear, it has a garden and off-road parking facilities.

The Enfield office of Christie + Co sold the freehold off a guide price of £1.4m.
