Hotel wanted for new Channel 4 television series
Hotel wanted for an observational television series to feature on Channel 4.
Dragonfly Film & Television, the BAFTA award winning production company behind documentary series ‘One Born Every Minute' and ‘The Family' are currently working on the first series of a documentary programmed called The Hotel (working title), and are now looking to film a second series.
A large, vibrant hotel (minimum 40 bedrooms) with "warm, colourful and entertaining" staff a summer trade and a busy events schedule is being sought to take part. Filmed over one month, the show aims to capture compelling stories within a hotel for the Channel 4 prime time series.
Multiple small fixed cameras will be used to follow the daily goings on of one "remarkable" hotel, its staff and selected guests to give an insight into the workings of a 21st century British hotel.
After seeing the edited films the hotel owner involved in the first series, which is due to be transmitted later this year, said: "Our concerns as owners were that the cameras would frighten away the guests; that the crew would be a nuisance; that they would leave the place a mess; that the process would upset the staff and make fools of the hotel.
"The reality was that very few guests were put off by the cameras; the crew were unobtrusive and great fun to deal with; they left the hotel exactly as they found it; the staff, after initial apprehensiveness, loved the experience; and the hotel is, on the whole, shown in a good light."
