Hotel on the River Wye on the market

A hotel on the banks of the River Wye near Symonds Yat in Gloucestershire has been put on the market.

It has a two-star rating and has an English Tourist Council Silver Award.

Parts of the original building date back to the mid-1800s but the detached property has more recent extensions.

Forest View offers 12 en-suite bedrooms (including two suites), a 32-seat restaurant, a 20-seat lounge bar, and a one-bedroom owners' apartment with its own entrance and roof terrace.

The gardens include a paved trade terrace to the front and a paved tiered terrace with wrought iron railings.

There is potential to develop the business further by opening a tea garden on the trade terrace during the summer and by opening for more than the current seven months a year.

The Bristol office of Christie + Co is seeking offers in excess of £795,000 on behalf of Darrell and Avril Clewer.
