Hotels: what next for the sector?

The past few years have been turbulent for hotels but there are signs that the market across the country is returning to growth.

That's why we decided that it would be a good time to take stock and ask some questions about where things stand, and where the sector goes from here.

In this, our Hotel Insight Report, we have tried to do exactly that. Brought to you by the editorial team at Caterer and Hotelkeeper in association with NatWest and RBS, the report contains exclusive research and analysis of the hotel market, looking back at the past 12 months, as well as forward to the coming years.

Not only do we look at the performance of various different market segments, but also at how the market looks in the major cities across the country, and what the revailing economic conditions for the coming years might mean for hotel businesses.

We also take an in-depth look at the rapid and widespread changes that the influence of online travel agents (OTAs) is bringing to bear on the hospitality landscape, as well as what hoteliers can do to keep up with these changes.

NatWest and RBS's involvement has been key to making this report possible, and I am grateful to them for their input and support throughout the process.

I hope it will prove to be useful and informative for hotel operators across the country, and here's hoping that the period of growth that we have seen in recent months across the market continues!
