Hilton Glasgow Grand Ballroom in £1.7m refurbishment
Hilton Glasgow has undergone a major £1.7m refurbishment that is expected to be completed this month.
Interior design firm 10 Design has been tasked with revamping the 1,000-capacity Grand Ballroom and 63 of the hotel's bedrooms and bathrooms, while the lifts at the property will be completely upgraded.
Craig Gardner, general manager, said that 2011 is an exciting year for the hotel.
"Our Grand Ballroom has played host to the majority of award ceremonies and charity events taking place in the city for the past 20 years," he said. "This refurbishment will be a fantastic boost to our existing offering and considerably enhance the guest experience."
Liz McNeill, director of 10 Design, added: "Working hand in hand with the hotel, we have created a stunning new ballroom that bolsters the hotel and creates an enhanced guest experience.
"The rejuvenated ballroom has luxurious new carpets, sparkling granite flooring and textured wall coverings and I am delighted with the rich and vibrant results."
The renovations are part of an ongoing refurbishment plan that has seen a multi-million pound investment into the property by Hilton Glasgow over the past four years.
