Highland coaching hotel sells for more than £390,000

The Lodge hotel in the Highland village of Newtonmore in Inverness-shire has sold for in excess of the £390,000 asking price.

It has been featured in some episodes of the BBC series Monarch of the Glen.

Set in 1.5 acres of lawns and gardens, the hotel offers 35 en-suite bedrooms, four staff bedrooms, a 34-seat restaurant/dining room, a lounge bar, and a large function room that can accommodate up to 150 guests

It is a first venture into the licensed trade for new owners Ian and Helen Good.

The Edinburgh office of Christie + Co sold the property on behalf of Peter and Janet Gillespie.
