Harbourmaster hotel on market for £2.7m

The 13-bedroom Harbourmaster hotel in Aberaeron, Ceredigion, has been put on the market for £2.7m.

A recipient of a Cesar award for Welsh Hotel of the Year from the Good Hotel Guide 2005, the hotel is being sold by Glyn and Menna Heulyn through property agents Christie + Co.

Located on Aberaeron's harbourside, the Grade-II-listed property and nearby cottage - which houses two of the bedrooms - opened as a hotel in 2002 and includes a 50-seat restaurant and bar.

Jonathan Hill, director of hotels for Christie + Co in Bristol, said: "The Harbourmaster is one of the most visually-distinguishable buildings on this part of the Welsh coastline, and a superb hotel and restaurant business to boot. Its chic and cool styling makes it an extremely popular destination for dining and accommodation, with good year-round trade generated from both locals and tourists alike.

"It is a highly-desirable business and we expect to attract a high level of interest from prospective purchasers."

The Harbourmaster hotel is included in the collection of Welsh Rarebits, Mr and Mrs Smith and Alistair Sawday.
