Green light for Celtic stadium hotel

Glasgow City Council has granted Celtic Football Club planning permission in principle to build a hotel and museum at Celtic Park.

The hotel, which is being designed by Holmes Miller Architects, is expected to have 175 to 200 bedrooms and up to five storeys.

The plans, which would also include a shop and ticket office, are part of Celtic's wider scheme to regenerate the East End of Glasgow.

A spokesperson for Celtic FC said: "Clearly, there is still considerable work to be done in bringing such an ambitious project to fruition. However, we will now engage with other relevant parties to assess this potential development."
