Gleneagles wins top British accolade at Condé Nast Traveller Spa Awards 2013
The ESPA Life spa at Gleneagles in Auchterarder, Perthshire, was the only UK-based winner at last night's Condé Nast Traveller Spa Awards 2013.
The therapists at Gleneagles were praised for being "focused, enthusiastic and uncannily empathetic", resulting in an experience which sends guests home "calmer, sunnier, clearer, lighter in step and, crucially, with the determination and tools to keep on improving and moving."
One other British hotelier, Gordon Campbell Gray, collected the Best for Families award for his Carlisle Bay hotel in Antigua, which was described as being "the Caribbean's slinkiest, all-bells-and-whistles family outpost". The spa at Carlisle Bay was acclaimed for being "small with a big punch".
It is the second year in a row that Carlisle Bay has won an award for its spa from Condé Nast Traveller.
