Four Seasons first tented hotel opens in Thailand

Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts has opened its first tented hotel.

The Four Seasons Tented Camp Golden Triangle in north Thailand, which opened on 15 January, consists of 15 separate luxury air-conditioned tents.

It is the group's third hotel in the country after the Four Seasons Resort Chiang Mai and Four Seasons Hotel Bangkok.

Guests must stay a minimum of three nights, with prices starting at $1,512 (£861) per tent per night. Available activities include elephant riding lessons, Mekong river excursions and jungle trekking.

Jason Friedman is camp manager and Pichit Hongthong is head chef.
