Folio Hotels in £5m St James's Club and Hotel refurbishment
Hotel operator Folio Hotels is ploughing £5m into the refurbishment of the St James's Club and Hotel in London.
The nine month redevelopment project, which kicks off next month, will be handled by interior designers Parker Liddell, who have been tasked with giving the property a luxurious yet comfortable look.
On its reopening next August, the hotel will include 61 bedrooms including 10 suites, a new lobby area, restaurant and bar, and four meeting and private dining rooms.
St James's general manager Jonathan Orr-Ewing said: "The care and attention to detail our owners and designers have lavished on the scheme will ensure that we have a perfectly crafted town house of exceptional comfort and excellence. I am looking forward to launching the new St James's in August 2007."
Folio, which was formed in 2005 by two ex-Corus Hotel directors, earlier this year acquired 19 hotel leases in England (17) and Scotland (two) from Washington Hotels, taking its collection to 27 properties.
The group also manages the Richmond Hill and Gate hotels in Richmond, Surrey, as well as Ye Harte & Garter in Windsor.
