Flemings Mayfair to launch new Rosemary Shrager menu
Four-star boutique hotel Flemings Mayfair has teamed up with TV chef Rosemary Shrager to create a new a la carte menu.
The restaurant The Grill will feature the "By Rosemary Shrager" menu from the end of January, as part of its main a la carte offer.
Shrager, her executive chef John Rogers and Flemings' head chef Brian Henry developed 12 new dishes, including gratin of smoked haddock with leeks and toasted brioche; pig's cheek with pomme puree, red cabbage and cider jus (pictured), and a prune frangipane (also pictured).
The menu will also be updated seasonally throughout the year.
Oliver Brown, general manager of Flemings Mayfair, who joined the hotel early last year, said: "We're delighted that Rosemary has joined the Flemings family. She has a love of traditional, British food using seasonal ingredients, and is the perfect fit to refresh our menu at The Grill. I can personally attest that the dishes are fantastic."
Self-taught chef Shrager has previously worked with chefs such as Marco Pierre White, Pierre Koffmann and Jean-Christophe Novelli. She opened her self-titled cookery school in Tunbridge Wells in May 2013, and has a book called Bakes, Cakes & Puddings coming out this March.
She has appeared on television programmes including Ladette to Lady, Soapstar Superchef and The Alan Titchmarsh Show, as well as ITV's I'm a Celebrity Get Me Out of Here.
Flemings Mayfair has 129 bedrooms plus a townhouse available as a private residence. As well as its restaurant, it also has a cocktail bar and serves afternoon tea. It won two Hotel Catey awards in 2012, one for Front of House Team of the Year, and one for Beverage Manager of the Year.
