Flemings Mayfair appoints Paul Rafferty hotel manager

Flemings Mayfair has appointed Paul Rafferty as the family-owned property's first hotel manager.

Rafferty will be accountable for the smooth running of operations at the 129-bedroom hotel. He will also act as deputy for general manager Henrik Muehle and work closely with chef Shaun Rankin and his team at the hotel's restaurant Ormer Mayfair.

Rafferty joined the hotel, which is made up of 13 converted Georgian townhouses, in 2013 as rooms division manager. He was previously front of house manager at the Courthouse hotel in Soho where he supervised hotel re-branding, and reception manager at the Sofitel London Heathrow, where he acted as head of department.

He said: "After four years at Flemings, I am hugely excited to be stepping into this new role at the hotel. I look forward to finding new ways to innovate personalised guest experiences."

Flemings Mayfair was founded in 1851 and has been owned by the family-operated Veladail Hotel Group since 1975. It is now part of the Small Luxury Hotels of the World consortium and underwent a £16m refurbishment in 2016.
