Flemings Hotel names Chris Penn general manager

Flemings Hotel has appointed 2009 Acorn Award winner Chris Penn as general manager.

He joins the Mayfair hotel from London's Cavendish Hotel, which was awarded a VisitEngland gold accreditation, a VisitLondon gold medal in 2010 and a ranking in the Sunday Times Top 100 Best Companies in both 2010 and 2011 under his tenure as hotel manager.

He said: "Flemings represents the best a luxury hotel has to offer - understated elegance, effortless style and delivery of flawless service.

"Not only that, but Flemings has a most enviable location in the heart of Mayfair. I am most proud to take up this position."

Prior to the Cavendish, Penn was resident manager at the Stafford Hotel in London, where under his leadership the hotel saw financial improvements and the £22m development of the Stafford Mews, which added 26 suites and a penthouse.
