First-time buyers for Sussex B&B

First-time buyers Martin and Jane Home are the new owners of the Avondale hotel B+B in the seaside town of Seaford in East Sussex.

The property, which holds an AA four-diamond rating, is 500 yards from the seafront in Seaford and lies between the port of Newhaven and Eastbourne. It is close to such attractions as Seven Sisters, Beachey Head, and South Downs Way

Made up of two former semi-detached houses, the hotel dates back to around 1900 and retains many period features such as the original fireplaces and stained glass windows. It enjoys all-year trade from both leisure and business customers.

The B&B has 17 bedrooms, a resident's lounge and a spacious 34-seat dining room, along with a sun terrace at the front of the building and a private enclosed garden to the rear.

The Maidstone office of Christie + Co sold the property for close to the asking price of £695,000 on behalf of previous owners Michael and Christine Nott who also own a local coffee shop.
