First phase of largest Holiday Inn Express in Europe opens

The first phase of the largest Holiday Inn Express in Europe has opened near Heathrow Airport's Terminal 5.

Once complete in spring 2011, the £16m hotel, which is being developed by the Crimson Hotel Group, will have 300 bedrooms. The first stage of the property, which is now operational, includes 125 bedrooms and a public lobby with a restaurant and bar.

Aly Kassam, director at Crimson Hotel Group, which operates the property under a franchise agreement with the InterContinental Hotel Group, said that the hotel will fill a gap in the market for the budget traveller at Heathrow's Terminal 5.

"We can offer business and leisure guests a great choice and fantastic value for money, which is just what people want in today's marketplace," he said.

Decorated in the signature style of the new Holiday Inn Express brand, the Holiday Inn Express London - Heathrow T5 offers bed and breakfast from £79 per room per night.
