First Motel One for London opens at Tower Hill
German budget hotel brand Motel One has arrived in London with the opening of a 291-bedroom hotel at Tower Hill.
The Motel One London-Tower Hill joins two existing hotels in the UK, both of which are in Edinburgh.
Located between Aldgate and Tower Hill tube stations, the hotel features design elements reflecting its location including images of the crown jewels, which provide a nod to the nearby Tower of London, while tweed and velvet-covered armchairs and a fireplace intend to radiate a traditional English charm.
The bedrooms feature 100% Egyptian cotton bed linen and LOEWE flat-screen TVs, with the bathrooms incorporating glass Dornbracht washbasins and monsoon rain showers. Free Wi-Fi is available throughout the hotel.
Further Motel One openings in the UK are planned for Manchester and Newcastle, as well as a second property for London. The current portfolio across Europe of 54 hotels with 12,100 bedrooms is expected to grow to 74 and 19,300 bedrooms by 2017.
Single rooms at the Tower Hill hotel start from £98 per night, with a breakfast buffet available for £9.50.
