Firefighters tackle blaze at Alverton Manor hotel

Firefighters have tackled a blaze at Alverton Manor hotel in Truro, Cornwall.

Smoke was reported to be pouring from the roof of the grade II listed property as four fire crews wearing breathing apparatus fought to bring the fire under control.

There are no reports of any injuries as a result of the fire and a thermal imaging camera was used to locate the seat of the fire, which is thought to have started in the Great Hall of the hotel, according to www.falmouthpacket.co.uk.

The hotel, which was recently refurbished, features 33 bedrooms including five garden view suites, as well as a brasserie, bar and six conference and event rooms.
