Edwardian Group London launches first fish & chip shop

The Edwardian Group London has expanded its food and beverage offering with the launch of Great British Fish Co earlier this month, a stand-alone restaurant concept, in London's Leicester Square.

The luxury hotel company, which owns and operates the May Fair London hotel and 13 Radisson Blu Edwardian properties, is serving fish and chip shop classics, such as battered fresh cod, haddock and hake fillet alongside a daily selection of fresh market fish in the new restaurant and takeaway outlet.

Russ Brown, director of food and beverage for Edwardian Group London, said the Great British Fish Co will offer an "unforgettable combination of classic British food and iconic London setting".

In June, Russ Brown told The Caterer, that the Great British Fish Co "will be a posh fish and chip shop serving home-made steak pies and vegetable quiches".

Great British Food Co will offer takeaway food in traditional British ‘chippie' style boxes, sealed with a bespoke flag. The opening of the new fish & chip restaurant follows the recent launch of the Edwardian Group's new May Fair kitchen.

Brown added: "If it is successful, it is a brand we could potentially expand elsewhere."
