Edinburgh's Sheraton Grand appoints new executive assistant manager

Edinburgh's Sheraton Grand Hotel and Spa has appointed Claudio Melli as executive assistant manager.

Originally from Italy, Melli had previously been food and beverage manager at the Grand Formos Regent in Taiwan's capital city Taipei, although he has also worked in hotels and resorts in England, Scotland, the USA, Caribbean, UAE, South Korea and Egypt.

He will supervise front office, housekeeping, engineering, security and food and beverage departments.

JP Kavanagh, the Grand's general manager, said: "It's great having Claudio with us. He did a fantastic job at our sister hotel in Seoul and I am delighted he has now joined us here in Edinburgh. I am sure we will benefit from his extensive international experience."
