EasyHotel to open 21st hotel in Croydon

EasyHotel is to open its 21st hotel worldwide in Croydon on 17 November.

The 103-bedroom property is located on a site close to East Croydon train station, the third busiest station in London outside Travel Zone 1.

There are fast services to Gatwick airport as well as central London, plus a tram link to Wimbledon.

Good transport links are crucial to easyHotel's location strategy. Some 60% of hotel demand in London last year came from overseas customers.

n addition, Croydon town centre has seen substantial inward investment in recent years.

Chief executive Simon Champion said he believed the Croydon hotel would be attractive to the significant number of international visitors looking for a cheaper alternative to central London. Room rates at the hotel start at £19 a night.

He added: "We believe the outlook for the area over the next few years is very positive."
