EasyHotel set to open in Dubai

Fledgling budget hotel chain EasyHotel has announced it is set to open the first of six planned hotels in Dubai next year.

The first property will be a 195-room property in Karama, Dubai and is schedule to open in early 2008.

EasyHotels aim to capitalise on the untapped low-cost sector in Dubai's branded hotel market.

Further hotels in Dubai will be in the Jebel Ali free Zone, International City, Jumeirah Village South and the Al Garhoud district.

The deal follows the signing last year of a master franchise agreement signed last year between EasyGroup and Istithmar Hotels, a subsidiary of the Dubai investment company Istithmar.

EasyHotel has plans for around 20 properties in the UAE in the next five years.
