Duncan Palmer to return to London for top job with Langham Hotels

Duncan Palmer is to return to the UK as managing director of the Langham, London, and regional vice president of Europe, after spending four years in Hong Kong with Langham Hotels and Resorts.

Prior to going to the Far East in 2009, Palmer spent five years as managing director of the Langham, London. He previously held the position of general manager at both the Savoy, from 1995 to 1998, and the Connaught (1998-2002).

For the past four years, Palmer has been managing director of the Langham in Hong Kong and last year added the role of regional director of operations for Indonesia to his responsibilities.

His considerable overseas experience includes stints with Mandarin Oriental in Macau, Manila, Bangkok and Jakarta, and with the Sukhothai in Bangkok.

Meanwhile, Katie Benson, currently regional vice president Europe and North America and managing director of the Langham, London, will be leaving the UK to move to Hong Kong. Her new role will be as regional vice president of the Americas and Caribbean.
