Cornish hotel for sale in Doc Martin fishing village

The Bay hotel is a character property in the ancient Cornish fishing village of Port Isaac where the TV series Doc Martin (starring Martin Clunes) is filmed.

The three-storey hotel overlooking Port Isaac Bay has been put on the market by John Hawes and Jacki Burns, who have owned the business for the past five years.

The Exeter office of property agent Christie & Co is seeking £650,000 for the freehold on the hotel, which has eight individually-themed en suite bedrooms, a snug/sitting room, a guest lounge and a 20-seat dining room.

The owners' accommodation includes a living room with a working fire, a double bedroom with a dressing area and a bathroom complete with spa.

"The business is currently run on a bed and breakfast basis from Easter through to October and there is opportunity to develop the business by extending the season and perhaps offering evening meals," said Peter Addyman from Christie & Co's Exeter office.

"The hotel enjoys an excellent level of repeat business, as well as an excellent level of recommendations."
