Computer boss Ian Livingstone revealed as new owner of Chewton Glen

The new owner of iconic country house hotel, Chewton Glen, is believed to be computer games entrepreneur Ian Livingstone.

The ex-Games Workshop director is one of the authors, along with Steve Jackson, of the famous Fighting Fantasy series of adventure books, first published in the 1980's.

Martin Skan announced the sale of the five-star Hampshire property after 40 years of ownership for a rumoured £30m, last month.

But the deal does not apparently signal a move into the hotel ownership business for Livingstone.

He told The Times newspaper: "It's the only hotel I've got and it's the only one I intend to have."

Skan will remain with the hotel as non-executive president, while his wife Brigitte will continue to "keep an eye" on the property's interior design.
