Combine harvester seller buys Fens hotel

Kevin Kirby, a seller of second-hand combine harvesters, has bought the Grade II-listed George hotel in the Fens town of Ramsey in Cambridgeshire.

The original building dates back to 1630 with newer extensions added to the rear to add bedrooms and function space.

Facilities include 11 en-suite bedrooms, a ground-floor 20-seat restaurant and first-floor 70-seat restaurant, a public bar, a games room and an inner snug. The 30-seat beer garden to the rear is accessed from the High Street by an archway.

There is also a 70-capacity function room on the ground floor, a first-floor board room to accommodate 25 delegates, and three-bedroom owners accommodation spread across the first and second floors.

The Ipswich office of Christie + Co sold the leasehold off a guide price of £175,000.
