Coaching Inn Group doubles EBITDA in six months

The Coaching Inn Group, which operates in 12 historic town centre properties, has more than doubled EBITDA and grown turnover by 33% during the first six months of the year.

EBITDA pre-exceptional items increased by 57% to £1.04m, compared to £665,376 last year, while turnover rose from £6.3m to £8.4m. Like-for-like sales increased by 5.8%.

Edward Walsh, finance director of the Coaching Inn Group, said: "We've had an excellent start to the year with these results already demonstrating a strong return from the investments made in terms of site acquisition and development as well as the investment we continue to make in our central team."

The Coaching Inn Group recently extended its portfolio with the acquisition last month of the 26-bedroom Three Swans in Hungerford, Berkshire. The group's Eatery and Coffee House brand will now be introduced into the Three Swans, alongside a refurbishment of the bedrooms.

It was the third addition this year for the group, which has plans to grow to 15 sites via a £20m expansion of the company.
