Close to £890,000 for Brixwold Castle Hotel & Chapel

Close to the asking price of £890,000 was achieved for the Brixwold Castle Hotel and Chapel in Bonnyrigg, Midlothian. The listed property features a conservatory restaurant, lounge bar, lounge and eight letting rooms. Part of the rear of the property has been converted into a chapel with wall-panelling and stained-glass windows, providing an ideal venue for wedding ceremonies. New owner, Peter Hood, is a well-known Edinburgh publican and restaurateur, but this is his first venture outside of the city. Under Hood, the hotel's name will change to Dalhousie Courte, and the property will be renovated to create a family-friendly environment designed for weddings and functions. The agent was Colliers Robert Barry.
