Christie + Co sells three Bath hotels in a month
The Bristol office of Christie + Co has sold three Victorian hotels and guesthouses in Bath within a month with a combined value of around £3m.
The priciest was Wentworth House, a detached property that carried an asking price of £1.35m.
The hotel incorporates 19 bedrooms, a lounge-bar, a dining room/conservatory, an outdoor heated swimming pool and two-to-three-bedroom owners' accommodation.
Its new owner is first-time buyer Sunny Ahluwalia who will operate the hotel as a family-run business while retaining his interest in alternative energy.
Leighton House, a Bath stone property with eight en-suite bedrooms and a two-bedroom owners' accommodation, was sold off a guide price of £895,000 to local operator David Lanz, who owns two other hotels in the city.
Highways House, a semi-detached Grade II-listed property with six en-suite bedrooms and one-bedroom owners' accommodation, went to local restaurateur Akin Ajolo off a £695,000 asking price.
In a simultaneous deal, Ajolo sold the leasehold on his 76-seat Double Dutch restaurant to a Cardiff-based Turkish operator off a guide price of £79,950.
