Choice Hotels adds Windsor hotel to flagship Clarion brand

Choice Hotels International has made the Harte & Garter hotel & spa in Windsor its flagship UK hotel of the Clarion Collection brand.

The four-star, 98-room hotel, which has views of Windsor Castle, will now be known as the Clarion Collection Harte & Garter hotel. It is operated by Suite Hospitality under a franchise agreement with Choice Hotels Europe.

Choice's Clarion Collection brand is for four- to five-star rated, period properties that are often house in historical buildings with grounds and high quality restaurants and bars. Most have extensive meetings facilities and some have leisure and spa facilities.

Andrew Lee, general manager of Clarion Collection Harte & Garter Hotel & Spa, said: "We are pleased to be known as a Clarion Collection hotel and to provide an excellent four-star hotel offering to both leisure travellers wishing to explore historical Windsor and business travellers who want ease of access to Heathrow and commercial centres along the M4."

Duncan Berry, CEO UK, Choice Hotels Europe, added: "We are delighted to welcome the Clarion Collection Harte & Garter Hotel & Spa to Choice Hotels' global network of over 6,300 hotels."

In addition to the Clarion brand, Choice has the Quality brand, which is for mid-scale, full service three-star rated hotels, and the Comfort brand, which is two- to three-star rated and is the largest Choice Hotels International brand worldwide.
