Chef Michael Caines ends consultancy with Bristol Marriott Royal

In a joint statement issued today Michelin-starred chef Michael Caines' and the Marriott Royal hotel announced an end to their three-year relationship.

The statement said Caines had ended his consultancy role at the Bristol site to focus his attention on his core projects, the burgeoning Abode hotel group and Michael Caines Restaurants.

Tim Price, general manager of the Bristol Marriott, said: "Michael is a very traditional and classical French chef and we will remain traditional but plan to focus more on good English cookery using local produce."

He added: "Marriott are very excited about developing food & beverage offerings and Michael had a great effect on the type of food we serve at the hotel. We will look to continue the work he started with us."

Andy Britton will remain in place as executive chef at the Marriott Royal.
