Award-winning Falmouth hotel seeks new owner

The award-winning Green Lawns hotel in the Cornish town of Falmouth has been placed on the market with a guide price of £2.5m.

The gardens at the three-star hotel (also known as the Ivy hotel on account of its ivy-covered exterior) have won the Britain in Bloom competition eight times. The business has also won an ETC Silver Award and a 2 Banners Dining Award.

Along with 39 en-suite bedrooms, the hotel offers a bar/lounge, a private lounge, and a bar and dining/function room that can be divided into two areas accommodating 80 and 250 people.

Extensive leisure facilities include an indoor pool overlooked by a separate lounge, a children's pool, a Jacuzzi, a gymnasium, a sauna and a solarium.

Staff accommodation is provided in the form of a 15-room semi-detached Victorian building in the grounds.

The Exeter office of Christie + Co is handling the sale of the freehold on behalf of Robert Collings, who has owned the hotel for the past 33 years.
