Warrington Wolves rugby league team sign up Lindley Venue Catering for another six seasons

Lindley Venue Catering, the specialist sports stadia catering division of the Lindley Group, has had its contract extended at home of rugby league team Warrington Wolves for a further six seasons.

The agreement, worth £7.8m, will see the caterer provide all match day and non-match day catering, alongside the sales and marketing of the facilities at the 15,300 capacity Halliwell Jones Stadium. Lindley has worked at the venue for the past decade. The new deal was secured following a competitive tender.

Lindley is to introduce a number of its branded retail concepts onto the public concourses which are being refitted with the new kiosks this summer, in readiness for the Rugby League World Cup which starts in October when the stadium will host two matches.

Lindley has also teamed up with Warrington Wolves' beer supplier, Carlsberg Group, to install branded Carlsberg Ice Bars at the stadium. In addition, Cracklings - another Lindley retail brand - will offer slow cooked torn pork sandwiches, dry cured bacon rolls and British bangers from locally-sourced pork..

Andy Gatcliffe, chief executive of Warrington Wolves said: "Over the past 10 years we have built up a strong rapport with the Lindley Group and the catering team have been doing a great job here both in terms of the match day catering and event management, but we felt that it was appropriate to put the contract out to a competitive tender at the end of the current term.

"It was a hotly contested pitch, but a combination of factors led us to the decision to extend our arrangement with Lindley Venue Catering. What clinched the deal for us is their commitment to enhancing the matchday catering experience for our fans through the public concourse refit and the initiatives they have developed with Carlsberg, coupled with their proven track record in delivering incremental revenue from non-match day business."

Adam Elliott, president of the Lindley Group added: "It really is a great tribute to the work, effort and achievements of the Lindley team at the Halliwell Jones Stadium, that Warrington Wolves has selected Lindley Venue Catering as their chosen catering, hospitality and events partner for another six seasons."
