Spud skinners from IMC

European bar and catering equipment maker IMC has introduced two professional potato peelers to help restaurants and fish and chip shops save time and money. The SP Peeler range includes the SP12, which has a 12kg capacity and can peel up to 300kg of potatoes per hour, while the 25kg-capacity SP25 can churn out 600kg of spuds each hour. Both come in a brushed stainless-steel finish and have a stainless-steel hopper and chute, a solid cast-aluminium easy-to-remove peeler plate and large paddles below to remove water and waste. Claimed benefits include quiet and energy-efficient operation, cool running temperatures and a safety feature to prevent automatic restart after a power cut. The machines are 570mm wide, 335mm deep and either 425mm or 495mm high and are operated by wall-mounted controls. They come with a two-year warranty, a choice of pedestal heights and a number of optional accessories, such as integrated filter baskets, floor-standing interceptor tanks, waste ejectors and lid-retaining straps.
