Scots give Sodexho bad marks for hygiene
Sodexho has been panned by the Scottish Parliament for health and safety breaches at its kitchens and restaurants.
In a report from February, part of its series of quarterly inspections, the Scottish Parliament criticised the caterer for dirty kitchen premises and equipment, poor storage of waste, staff eating food in the kitchen and the use of eggs three days after being cooked.
The report, obtained under the Freedom of Information Act, said: "Given that Sodexho's policy is 24 hours on cooked eggs used in sandwiches, to store soft poached eggs for three days does not seem to sit in harmony with this."
A Sodexho spokeswoman said: "The Scottish Parliament has expressed their satisfaction about the standards of the catering provided by Sodexho. These audits are a great deal more rigorous than the standard environmental health audits and any issues raised are dealt with immediately."
