Scolarest scoops £9m-worth of contracts in the North
Scolarest won a trio of school contracts in the North of England this September worth a total of £8.8m, the Compass Group caterer revealed today.
The company is, through three contracts, providing 12 secondary, 13 primary and three special schools with catering services, feeding some 16,000 pupils in total.
The largest of the deals is a six-year, £7.4m total turnover contract to provide eight secondary and one primary school on the Wirral with school dinners, which started in September.
Scolarest has been providing services in Liverpool since the start of the new academic term, and at a third, four-year contract for three special schools in Salford since last month.
The caterer has been contracted by Land Securities Trillium, which is the provider of facilities management services at the schools through a Private Finance Initiative (PFI).
Tony Byrne, business director for education at Compass Group, said: "The award of these major contracts reflects Scolarest's strong track record in delivering successful catering solutions for PFI schools."
