School Food Plan Alliance to continue vision of School Food Plan
A School Food Plan Alliance has been set up to bring together leading food organisations after the School Food Plan office closed at the end of March.
Independent of any government funding, the School Food Plan Alliance will continue to champion the vision set out by the School Food Plan along with its 17 actions.
Co-chairs Jeanette Orrey of Food for Life and Linda Cregan of the Children's Food Trust said: "We are delighted to be co-chairing the new School Food Plan Alliance and to continue the positivity and consensus of the School Food Plan. We look forward to working with the whole alliance and sector to champion the School Food Plan vision."
"There's still more to do but we can look down the mountain and see how far we have come."
The alliance includes organisations such as LACA (Lead Association for Catering in Education), the Jamie Oliver Food Foundation and the Royal Academy of Culinary Arts' charity organisation Chefs Adopt a School.
