Rhubarb appoints new director of restaurants

Catering company Rhubarb has appointed Romain Pottier to the newly created role director of restaurants.

He joins from his most recent position as general manager of Sushi Samba with a wealth of restaurant and hospitality experience gained both in the UK and the US.

Pottier's new responsibilities include assisting retail director Helen Bowey with the launch of the Sky Garden at 20 Fenchurch Street, expected to open in autumn.

He will also oversee the Gallery Mess restaurant & bar at the Saatchi Gallery and work to develop new opportunities within the division.

In addition to being part of the opening team at Sushi Samba in the Heron Tower, City of London, Pottier has worked with renowned chefs Alain Ducasse and Gordon Ramsay, as well as joint ventures between Morgans hotel group/Kimpton hotels and China Grill Management.

Commenting on the new appointment, managing director PB Jacobse said: Pottier will support and strengthen the management team as Rhubarb's premium restaurant portfolio expands.

"He brings significant experience in launching new and developing existing restaurant concepts and will play a pivotal role in our restaurant division," he said. "We welcome Romain on-board at this exciting time."
