Programme for 2014 Hospitality Technology Europe conference announced
The conference programme for the 2014 Hospitality Technology Europe (HTE) conference has been revealed, and will include debates on topical issues such as OTAs, online payments, security, networking and apps.
The conference, taking place in at Earls Court 2 exhibition space in London, on 4 and 5 February 2014, will centre on seven Q&A debates with suppliers and buyers, all aimed at executives from the hotel and IT industries.
There will also be keynote speeches, VIP roundtables and interactive events for delegates to view and take part in, while more than 100 technology suppliers will attend in a bid to demonstrate the tools available to the industry today.
The event is intended to be geared towards helping improve guests' experience, enhancing operational efficiency and making sure companies are prepared for the changes and benefits that new technology can bring the industry.
The programme has been overseen by both a hotel IT advisory board and a suppliers advisory board, including chief technology officer at glh hotels Chris Hewertson; ICT director for Best Western Hotels GB Richard Pemberton; IT director for Apex Hotels Andrew Jacques; IT director at Jury's Inn Shane Doyle; hotel technology consultant Tim Butterworth and Infor Hospitality director of sales Calum McIndoe.
The HTE conference programme announcement comes just days after a separate hotel technology conference, HOSPACE, warned that the industry had been slow to invest in new trends, and that the technology balance was easy to get wrong.
Around 1,500 people are expected to attend the two-day hotel technology event, which will be in its second year. Those wishing to attend or find out more should go to www.hospitalitytecheurope.com/reg.
