Probe to cool down safely from MCS Technical Products

MCS Technical Products is now stocking an award-winning programmable time/temperature probe from the USA that will help caterers comply with new EU food-safety regulations. The Coolit-Rite probe from Cooper Atkins (winner of the Kitchens Innovations Awards at this year's National Restaurant Association Show in Chicago) enables caterers to prove to officials that they have cooled cooked foods safely to the recommended 5°C before chilling. The probe clips to the side of a pan with the tip of its 15in stainless-steel stem monitoring the temperature of the food. The timer is set to the required safe cooling time. A 70 decibel alarm alerts staff when food has cooled to 5°C or when the set time has expired. The probe has an recommended retail price of £37.
