Hotels

Marston Hotels has welcomed Stuart Downham as general manager of its Winchester Royal hotel in the city of the same name in Hampshire. Before joining the three-star, 75-bedroom hotel, Stuart was operations manager at the Hilton hotel in Coventry, Warwickshire.

Myers

The four-star, 139-bedroom De Vere Slaley Hall, near Newcastle-upon-Tyne in Northumberland, has recruited Ashley Myers as general manager. Most recently Ashley ran several hotels and lodges in Kenya.

Park Plaza Hotels has expanded its sales team as it is opening two hotels in London and Cardiff next year. Marie-Clair Nash has become UK director of national accounts and consortia, and Céline Diriberry has joined as sales executive for business travel. Marie-Clair was most recently sales director at the Waldorf Hilton in London, while Céline previously worked in sales for the InterContinental Hotels Group and Golden Tulip.

The Small Luxury Hotels of the World consortium has named Richard Curtis as vice president of marketing for Europe, the Middle East and Africa. Richard, who has director-level marketing experience with Hilton and Marriot, replaces Kenneth Sharp. Kenneth has taken over as general manager of the 79-bedroom Culloden Hotel in Belfast.

Orieux

Former operations director of Conran Restaurants Jean-Michel Orieux has joined French café operator and bakery Paul as managing director of Paul UK.

Mövenpick Full-Service Gastronomy, a restaurant division of Mövenpick Group, has a new deputy chief executive officer from 1 September. Philipp Mosimann joins the Swiss-based company from Raffles International, where he was director of operations at the Equinox restaurant in the company's Plaza hotel in Singapore.

Barnsley

Charlton House has appointed Emma Barnsley operations manager to look after its clients in the North of England. Emma quit her job as operations manager for eight sites in Yorkshire with Avenance to take on her new role.

VisitBritain has appointed Rupert Peters regional manager for the Americas, based in New York. Rupert was previously working for VisitBritain in Sydney as regional manager for Australia and New Zealand.
