Jurgen Sutherland has been appointed general manager of the newly re-opened four-star, 1,020-bedroom Cumberland hotel in Park Lane, London. He joins the property from Corinthia Hotels International, where he was regional manager for central Europe.

British Trust Hotels has promoted Donald Allan to area manager. He moves from his position as relief manager at The Yorkshire Hotel in Harrogate, North Yorkshire.

De Vere Group has promoted Charles Nicol to new openings manager at Village Hotels and Leisure Clubs. He moves from his position as general manager of Village Hotel & Leisure Club Newcastle, Tyne and Wear.


Mandy Jennings has been appointed director of sales at De Vere Group. She joins the company from Marriot UK where she was head of agency, conference and incentive sales.


Jeremy's Restaurant in Haywards Heath, West Sussex, has appointed Rupert Gleadow as its new head chef. He joins from Langshott Manor in Surrey, where he was senior sous chef.

Contract catering

Lisa Roncon has been promoted to projects and style director at contract caterer Talkington Bates. She moves from her previous position as office manager. Andy Hall has been promoted to business support manager at Talkington Bates. He moves from the contract at engineering company Westinghouse, where he was catering manager. Talkington Bates has promoted Robert Beattie to director of culinary excellence. He moves up from his previous role of client account manager. ### Plus… Kristy McGuinness has been appointed corporate sales manager at Catamaran Cruisers. She moves from Bateaux London restaurant cruises where she was reservations supervisor.
