Oyster shucking competition open for entries

Entries are being sought for this year's British Oyster Opening Championship, which challenges competitors to open 30 oysters in record time.

Sponsored by Tabasco, the competition will take place on Wednesday 1 September at Bentley's Oyster Bar and Grill in London.

Entries will be judged by a panel of seafood experts and chefs, and competitors will be expected to open and present 30 oysters as quickly as possible.

The winner will walk away with a trophy and £250 prize money as well as the chance to represent Britain in the International Oyster Opening Championship in Galway, Ireland.

To enter the competition contact Tess Robinson at Food Matters by calling 020 7371 6466 or e-mailing tess@foodmatters.co.uk.
