Oil take it

Greek food company Odysea, based in London's Smithfield, started by supplying fish but now offers a range of Greek specialities including olives, oils, cheeses, beans, perasti (like passata) nuts and saffron. One popular product is Iliada, an extra virgin oil with Protected Designated Origin (PDO) status, from the Kalamata region. Made from the Koroneiki olive, the oil is dark green in colour and fruity in flavour, with a slightly peppery aftertaste. The company also supplies barrel-fermented feta, the whey from which is used, with ewe's milk cream, to make manouri, a cheese that is said to be ideal for cooking or eating with honey.

Prices:
Iliada, £68.20 (4 x five litres); feta, £17.16 for 2kg
