New business at Amadeus sparks recruitment drive

The NEC Group's caterer Amadeus has recruited 60 new employees to support its burgeoning portfolio of new business wins.

Amadeus appointed 30 new members of staff to support the mobilisation and operation of its new £7m five-year deal at Cadbury World, which opened last week.

A further 30 employees were recruited for two more venue wins, but the caterer has yet to announce details of these contracts.

An on-going partnership with Solihull College saw 20 more apprentices added to a scheme that aims to benefit more than 40 local young people each year. There are currently 28 people on the programme, which begins with eight weeks of pre-employment training, an interview and, if successful, a minimum of 12 months on-the-job training with Amadeus.

Kevin Watson, Amadeus managing director, commented: "This time last year I recruited a new senior management team to focus on growing the business. I am extremely happy with the way things are going."

Recruitment will take place for Amadeus's most recent contract win, a £5m five-year deal with the London Borough of Camden.
