New blog launched for Gloucestershire school caterers

School cooks and chefs in Gloucestershire now have their own place to share views and exchange ideas on the Internet.

www.gloucestershireschoolfood.blogspot.com allows caterers to share ideas, gripes and celebrations about the challenges of providing a school meals service under ever intensifying public scrutiny.

Entirely free, all that is required from users is for them to register their details to share their comments.

Rob Rees, Gloucestershire chef and food campaigner, said: "For a long time now many of the counties' cooks have asked for some kind of network. There are so many issues for this important group of people that can now be shared on this site."

Rees, who is a member of the School Food Trust, said he would be reading the blog to take on board the arguments and concerns raised by school caterers and make sure their needs are better considered in the current school meal transformation.
