NACC Awards winners announced

The National Association of Care Catering (NACC) has announced the winners of its annual awards.

The prizes seek to celebrate the achievements of individuals and teams in the industry that have championed excellence and best practice.

Winners included the Tenlands Care Home, County Durham (Care Establishment of the Year), Country Enterprise Foods (Catering Team of the Year), and Sunrise Senior Living (Sustainability Award).

Individuals honoured included Bev Puxley (the Pam Rhodes Outstanding Service Award), Tracy Williams from the Glanffrwd Nursing Home in Bridgend (Catering Manager of the Year), and Ros Speight, business support manager for Leicestershire County Council (Chairman's Award).

This year's celebratory dinner was held on 2 October, at the East Midlands Conference Centre, Nottingham, in front of 230 members of the care catering industry.

Neel Radia, chair of the NACC, commented that the sector was privileged to include professionals such as this year's winners in its ranks. He added that it was a specialised sector, which demanded specific skills, and that this year's high-calibre selection was committed to going above and beyond to deliver excellence.

He said: "It is a real honour and highlight to be able to present the deserved and inspirational winners with their awards. I wholeheartedly congratulate them all on behalf of the NACC and their industry peers."

The awards announcement came alongside the Care Quality Commission (CQC)'s statement that it will publish new guidelines on care home services, as well as a new rating system for homes inspired by Ofsted's school-ranking model.

The NACC represents all professionals working within the care catering industry. It seeks to promote the development and standards of the sector, and those within it.
