Mitie wins BBC Worldwide catering and FM contract

Mitie has won a contract with BBC Worldwide to provide a range of services including catering and front-of-house services at its new offices in White City, London.

The three-year deal, which is for an undisclosed sum, will start when the offices open in 2015 and also see Mitie offer maintenance and repairs, cleaning and security services.

Andreas Arnold, director of strategic projects for BBC Worldwide, said: "Mitie was chosen as the facilities management partner for its creative approach, the cultural fit, and its use of technology to improve service delivery."

The company has extensive experience in the media sector, with clients including Channel 4, Universal Music and Sky.

The iconic Television Centre is currently undergoing an extensive refurbishment, with the site being redeveloped into a mix of commercial spaces, including a new 100,000 sq ft headquarters for BBC Worldwide and private accommodation.
