Medirest signs new £3.8m catering contract with Bristol hospital

Medirest, Compass Group's healthcare division, has retained its business with University Hospitals Bristol NHS Foundation Trust in a new contract worth £3.8m.

The two-year extension to the original three-year deal will see the caterer continue to deliver a range of food and support services to South Bristol Community Hospital.

Steve Cenci, Medirest managing director, commented: "Our team has worked hard to deliver consistently high standards and our successful retention of this contract is testament to this.

"We look forward to continuing to work with the Trust, building on the partnership we have developed with their team and the great service we are delivering."

The hospital's 2014 Patient-Led Assessments of the Care Environment saw scores of 98.54% for cleaning and 100% for ward food. The Trust consists of a group of hospitals in Bristol, with more than 8,000 staff who offer over 100 different clinical services across nine sites.
