Lonsdale hires contractors

Award-winning bar and eaterie Lonsdale in Westbourne Grove, London, has swapped its two-AA-rosette kitchen team for an outside catering and events company.

The change came after Lonsdale owners Charles and Adam Breedem decided the food operation had become too complicated for the drinks-focused operation.

"We were serving high-end restaurant quality food and it didn't fit with the bar concept," said a spokesman.

Head chef William Cooper this month left the company along with his sous chef and the rest of the brigade.

Catering at the bar is now provided by a chef team put together by London-based catering and events business Pen Productions.

Chef Adam Perry, formerly of Chez Bruce and La Trompette now leads the brigade and provides a simpler, more "shareable" menu.
